Teppei Iwabuchi

BIO:

Teppei, better known as Nasty, is one of the longest standing professional FGFS riders to date. From 2009 to present day, Teppei has been tearing the scene up with his instantly recognizable style. Identifiable by his fast skid variations, long fakie sliders, and 700c pegless tricks, Nasty has been in the spotlight since the early days of FGFS for a reason.

When Teppei first appeared on the scene, he was already riding faster than most people at the time. His section in the k@nt!09 video got him worldwide recognition, garnering over 40k views. His skid variations, fakie hops, and clean 540 cabs (the first person to do real full 540 cabs) separated him from the rest of the Japan riders. After that, his trip to Korea and edit made with Low Angle Works gained him even more exposure.

Nasty, because of this recognition, was one of the only Japanese rider to be invited to the Red Bull Ride + Style invitational competition two separate years: 2011 and 2013 (Marco is the only other Japanese rider to be invited twice as well).

In 2011, W-Base released a Teppei Iwabuchi signature frame: the Durcus One Nasty. It was designed to Teppei’s specs and stayed true to his 700c roots.

Teppei also received two separate runs of signature straps from his sponsor, Hold Fast.

In late 2019, Teppei started teasing a new raw frame he was riding. Mid 2020, he announced his new frame company, Fast Pier. He would go on to release one set of frames titled, the Seeker. The frames sold out within weeks of releasing.

As of writing this, Nasty is still riding often and does it in his own fashion. Ignoring trends, he remains loyal to his own definition of Fixed Gear Freestyle: pegless, 700c, going fast, and doing skids.
