Red Bull Ride + Style 2011

ABOUT:

Red Bull Ride + Style 2011 was a fixed gear freestyle and track racing event hosted by Red Bull at Justin Herman Plaza in San Francisco. It was the first of 4 annual events in the series. This was the first time a fixed gear freestyle competition was given a mainstream spotlight. The trick portion of the event was invite only to compete.

Notable aspects of this event:

• Kozo’s backflip was the first time a backflip was done on a fixed gear in the United States.
• Tom La Marche attended the event, but opted out of competing.
• Edward Laforte attended the event but injured himself badly during warm ups.
• Legendary rider Keo Curry MC’ed the event.
