Michael Chacon

BIO:

Michael Chacon is a Fixed Gear Freestyle pioneer based out of Culver City, CA. His flashy spins got him noticed in 2009, where various blogs would repost his videos on his Leader TRK. His flat ground mastery would later be recognized as his signature style, where he propelled into Fixed Gear stardom.

Mike would later get large amounts of mainstream exposure, being featured in Apple, Nike, Gap, and more commercials. Along with this success, he was also seeing success in competitions, taking 1st place at Pedal Hard Trick Comp, BHFBC2, and Shiokaze’ 2012 in Japan. He would also put on a good showing at the first 2 years of Red Bull Ride + Style Competitions with a 6th place finish in 2011 and qualifying for top 10 in 2012.

Even as Mike’s star power grew, he continued to stack clips and put out edits on Youtube. While most of the FGFS community were releasing their content on Vimeo, Mike was one of the only riders releasing edits only on Youtube, where he would naturally reach a bigger audience increasing his popularity even more.

In 2011 Mike released a promo video showing off his soon to be released signature frame, The Hurricane. The frame released in 2012 and would go on to have a version collaborating with Undefeated.

He also had 3 editions of signature straps through his sponsor Hold Fast.

As time and life goes on, Mike has grown distant from the FGFS scene. Although he has teased coming back to ride, his latest edit was released in 2018.
