Matthew Montoya

BIO:

Matt Montoya is a former FGFS pro from the San Jose, CA area. Talented on all kinds of wheeled devices such as BMX and skateboards, the fixed gear bike was no exception.

His first mainstream exposure towards the scene was a welcome to Macaframa video released in 2011. The ending would feature one of, if not the biggest, nollie drops at the time. It would then be followed up by an iconic bottom bracket snap on the same setup.

Matt’s riding was known for being smooth as butter and fundamentally sound all around. He would also play a small part in documenting the San Jose scene, releasing videos on his own Vimeo channel often.

He was added to the Leader Bikes team in 2010 and was one of two riders testing out the Kareem Shehab signature Leader frame: The Pharaoh. He would go on to ride this bike for about 2 years before making the switch to SKYLMT where he would ride out the rest of his career.
