Our splined chainring adapter is the perfect product if your looking for the strength of a 48 splined crank but would like to keep using your standard 130BCD chainring. Some stronger or heavier riders have a tendency to strip out square taper cranks. The limits of the square taper design leave them looking for alternatives. One option is moving to an outboard bearing cranks otherwise you can go with a splined system.
48 splined cranks are incredibly strong and can hold up to the back and forth torquing fixed gear riding puts on them. The chainrings made for them press on and fit using the same spline design. Since the 48 spline system was originally designed for BMX, chainring sizes can be pretty limited. Riders looking to run tooth counts in the 40’s may have trouble finding something. Our adapter mounts right on the spindle acting as a spider to mount any 130bcd chainring. Problem solved.
